I have been a fan of Jodie Foster for years. If you were born in the early 1970's, you'll remember her as the strong willed tomboy from television and movies. One movie in particular, "The Little Girl Who Lived Down The Lane", is one that I hope to get my hands on again.
Ms. Foster was recently given a much deserved award at the Hollywood Reporter's Women In Entertainment Power 100 breakfast. Click here to read the article. Yet folks wanna gossip about Foster outing herself, by thanking her wife (long time partner sounds to formal and fake) for her support over the years. Now, I can be a bit slow about these things, but I didn't know she was a lesbian until about 10 years ago. I think after watching the movie "Maverick", with Mel Gibson, I finally saw the light. She wasn't very convincing as Mel's love interest.
So, what makes her a Koloured Grrl?
- For focusing for more than 30 years on the craft of acting, not the fame or celebrity.
- For doing "Panic Room" instead of Nicole Kidman.
- For constantly representing tough ass chicks (of any Kolour) who don't take no shiznit from anybody, both in her personal life and on screen.
- For keeping us out of her personal life.
- For driving a dude so crazy, that he tries to kill the President...DAMN!!!
- For the movie "Foxes"...what?...you don't know?
Finally, if anyone has any suggestions on the next inductee into the Hall Of Fame, famous or not, just contact me.
Quote Of The Day: Normal is not something to aspire to, it is something to get away from.- Jodie Foster
